Sprinzak, Yoseph

(1885-1959)
   Israeli politician. He was born in Russia, where he was one of the founders of the socialist youth movement Tzeire Zion. He settled in Palestine in 1908, where he became active in labour politics. A founder of the Histadrut and Mapai, he represented Mapai in the Knesset, and later became speaker of the Knesset.
